If you’re searching for an elegant waterfront wedding venue in Central Florida, Adams Estate in Lake Alfred offers an incredible combination of historic Florida charm, beautiful outdoor spaces, lakefront views, and modern amenities. Located between Orlando and Tampa, this private estate gives couples the opportunity to spend their entire wedding day — and even their wedding weekend — in one location.

I recently had the opportunity to photograph Haleigh and Pierce’s wedding at Adams Estate, and getting to experience the property through a photographer’s perspective showed me just how much variety this venue offers throughout a wedding day.

Getting Ready at the Adams Estate Cottages

One of my favorite features of Adams Estate is the on-site lodging. Haleigh and Pierce utilized the cottages while getting ready for their wedding, which made the beginning of the day incredibly convenient.

Instead of traveling between a hotel and the venue, couples and their wedding party have the option to stay right on the property. Adams Estate offers cottages, suites, and guestrooms for wedding guests, making it possible to turn the celebration into an entire wedding-weekend experience.

From a photography perspective, having everything on the same property is also a huge advantage. We can transition from getting-ready photographs into details, wedding-party portraits, first looks, and the ceremony without losing valuable photography time traveling between locations.

A Beautiful Outdoor Ceremony Setting

The Ceremony Garden at Adams Estate is surrounded by greenery and features a brick-paved aisle leading from the Estate House toward the ceremony space. Lake Alfred provides a beautiful waterfront backdrop, while the mature trees throughout the property give the venue the classic Central Florida estate feeling.

There are also so many locations around the grounds for wedding portraits. Between the waterfront, gardens, Estate House, brick pathways, mature trees, and architecture, couples can create a wedding gallery with plenty of variety without ever having to leave the property.

The Estate House & Lakefront Terrace

At the center of the property is the Estate House, featuring historic interiors, original hardwood floors, fireplaces, chandeliers, large windows, and a grand staircase.

Outside, the celebration can continue onto the lakefront terrace beneath market lights. I especially love venues that give couples both indoor and outdoor spaces because it creates more variety throughout the wedding day while also giving us additional options for photographs.

The Glass-Enclosed Pavilion

One of the most distinctive spaces at Adams Estate is its fully enclosed, climate-controlled Pavilion. Floor-to-ceiling glass allows you to enjoy the surrounding estate views while still having the comfort of an indoor reception space — something that is especially valuable for Florida weddings.

The Pavilion can be used for dinner, dancing, and the reception while the surrounding terraces allow the celebration to flow naturally between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Having a beautiful indoor option is also reassuring when planning a Florida wedding, where heat and unpredictable weather can always be factors.

An Entire Wedding Weekend in One Place

Adams Estate goes beyond being somewhere to simply hold a ceremony and reception. With accommodations available on the property, couples can create an entire wedding-weekend experience for their closest friends and family.

The Estate also includes spaces such as the waterfront Boathouse, which can be used for events like rehearsal dinners and farewell brunches. Guests staying on property can enjoy amenities including the lakeside pool, pickleball courts, and fire pit.

For couples with family and friends traveling into Central Florida, having lodging and wedding events together in one location can make the weekend feel much more connected.

Photographing Weddings at Adams Estate

As a wedding photographer, I’m always looking at a venue from the perspective of how it will photograph throughout an entire wedding day. Adams Estate gives us an incredible amount of variety without requiring couples to leave the property.

From getting ready in the cottages to outdoor portraits beneath the trees, waterfront photographs, the Ceremony Garden, Estate House, lakefront terrace, and reception inside the Pavilion, there are opportunities to create completely different looks throughout the day.

Haleigh and Pierce’s wedding gave me the chance to photograph the property firsthand, and I’m excited to share their full wedding in a separate post soon!
