Club Lake Venue Wedding | Apopka, Florida
There is something so beautiful about a wedding surrounded by towering live oaks, Florida greenery, and the peaceful atmosphere of a lakeside property. Club Lake Venue in Apopka, Florida brings all of those elements together while still being conveniently located just north of Orlando.
I recently had the opportunity to photograph Sara-Jean and Marcus's wedding at Club Lake Venue for Cherished Memories Studio, and it was such a beautiful day from beginning to end.
I had already photographed Sara-Jean and Marcus for their engagement session at Kraft Azalea Garden in Winter Park, so getting to see them go from their engagement photos to officially becoming husband and wife made this wedding even more special to photograph.
A Rustic Wedding Venue Just North of Orlando
Club Lake Venue is a 43-acre ranch located in Apopka, Florida, featuring two lakes, beautiful landscaping, and some absolutely incredible live oak trees.
The property has that classic Old Florida feeling that photographs beautifully while still offering an elegant wedding-day experience. Between the oak trees, waterfront areas, gardens, and rustic architecture, there is no shortage of locations for portraits throughout the day.
For couples who love the outdoors but still want an established wedding venue close to Orlando, Club Lake offers a beautiful combination of both.
Getting Ready at Club Lake Venue
One of the biggest advantages of having your entire wedding at one location is being able to photograph the story of the day without everyone constantly traveling between different locations.
Club Lake has multiple getting-ready spaces, including The Monroe Room, The Bunk House, and Lucky 13, depending on the wedding package selected.
Having dedicated spaces on the property makes it easy to transition from getting ready into details, first looks, wedding-party portraits, and eventually the ceremony without losing valuable time traveling across Central Florida.
A Wedding Ceremony Beneath the Live Oaks
One of the most recognizable features of Club Lake Venue is its ceremony area beneath the live oak hammock.
The massive oak trees create a naturally beautiful backdrop for the ceremony and give the space the kind of romantic Florida atmosphere that is difficult to recreate with décor alone.
The surrounding greenery also photographs beautifully throughout the ceremony, especially as the light begins to soften later in the day.
Sara-Jean and Marcus were surrounded by their family and friends as they officially became husband and wife, and it was such a wonderful moment to document.
Portraits Around Club Lake Venue
From a photographer's perspective, one of my favorite things about Club Lake is the variety of portrait locations available without having to leave the property.
The live oaks are obviously a standout feature, but there are also lakeside areas, greenery, the Secret Garden, rustic details, and open spaces that allow us to create completely different looks within one wedding gallery.
That variety is especially valuable during couple portraits. Instead of spending precious wedding-day time driving to another location, we can use that time to actually photograph the two of you.
And when that beautiful Central Florida golden-hour light comes through the trees, Club Lake really comes alive.
Lakeside Cocktail Hour & Reception
Following the ceremony, Club Lake offers a lakeside cocktail-hour area with a covered gazebo before guests transition into the reception.
The reception space continues the venue's combination of rustic and elegant details with illuminated chandeliers and market lights creating a warm atmosphere once the sun goes down.
It's a great transition from an outdoor Florida ceremony into dinner, dancing, and celebrating with everyone you love.
Sara-Jean & Marcus's Club Lake Wedding
Getting to photograph Sara-Jean and Marcus again after their engagement session made their wedding day especially fun for me.
Their engagement session at Kraft Azalea Garden gave us the opportunity to get comfortable working together in front of the camera before the wedding day. Then, on their wedding day at Club Lake, I got to capture the next chapter of their story as they celebrated with their closest family and friends.
I photographed their wedding on behalf of Cherished Memories Studio, and I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to document such an important day for them.
