There is something incredibly special about an intimate wedding day — especially when the focus is simply on two people, their love, and beginning their marriage together.
Kerri-Ann and James chose to elope at Covenant Missionary Baptist Church in Ocala, Florida, surrounded by the people closest to them. Their wedding day was simple, meaningful, and filled with so many sweet moments.
AN INTIMATE ELOPEMENT IN OCALA, FLORIDA
Kerri-Ann and James’ story began online, and getting to spend time with them on their wedding day made it easy to see just how sweet they are together.
Instead of waiting for their larger celebration later this year, they decided to officially begin their marriage with an intimate ceremony at Covenant Missionary Baptist Church in Ocala.
There is something so beautiful about smaller wedding days like this. Without a packed timeline or hundreds of guests, there is more room to slow down, be present, and focus on what the day is really about — getting married.
PHOTOGRAPHING THEIR WEDDING DAY
I had the opportunity to photograph Kerri-Ann and James’ elopement as an associate photographer for Wild and Soul Studio.
Their photographer, Ashley, unexpectedly needed surgery and was unable to photograph their ceremony herself, so I stepped in to make sure Kerri-Ann and James still had their wedding day documented.
Even though I was meeting them for the first time on such an important day, they were incredibly welcoming and such a joy to photograph.
After their ceremony, we took time to capture portraits of the newlyweds and document those first moments together as husband and wife.
THE CELEBRATION ISN’T OVER YET
While their Ocala elopement officially made Kerri-Ann and James husband and wife, this is only the beginning of their wedding celebrations!
They’ll be gathering with their family and friends for a larger celebration in Daytona Beach this December.
I love that they were able to have the best of both worlds — an intimate ceremony centered completely around their marriage followed by a larger celebration with everyone they love.
