If you're looking for a Florida wedding venue that combines beautiful outdoor scenery with a rustic and elegant reception space, The Venue at Hidden Acres in Palmetto, Florida offers so many beautiful possibilities for a wedding day.
I had the opportunity to photograph Hannah & Sean's wedding at The Venue at Hidden Acres while second shooting alongside Angela Moon Photography. From their sweet moments with their dog to gorgeous golden-hour portraits and a sparkler-filled first dance, their celebration gave me the chance to experience this venue from a wedding photographer's perspective.
A Rustic-Elegant Wedding Venue in Palmetto, Florida
The Venue at Hidden Acres offers couples the best of both worlds — beautiful outdoor grounds paired with a climate-controlled indoor reception space.
Couples have the option of an indoor or outdoor ceremony, which is especially valuable when planning a Florida wedding where the weather doesn't always cooperate with our plans!
The property also offers dedicated getting-ready space, an outdoor patio and cocktail area, a large reception space, and plenty of scenery to incorporate into wedding photographs throughout the day.
Getting Ready at The Venue at Hidden Acres
The beginning of a wedding day is filled with some of the smallest but most meaningful moments.
From photographing wedding details and final touches to interactions between the couple and the people closest to them, I love having time to document everything happening before the ceremony begins.
Having getting-ready space available directly at the venue makes transitioning from those moments into the rest of the wedding day much easier.
#Hannah & Sean's Hidden Acres Wedding
Hannah & Sean's wedding was such a fun day to photograph.
One of my favorite parts was getting to include their dog in their wedding-day story. Those personal elements are what make every wedding different, and I always love when couples find ways to incorporate the people — and pets! — that mean the most to them.
Their day was filled with genuine moments from beginning to end, and once we reached the evening, the property gave us some absolutely beautiful light for portraits.
Golden-Hour Wedding Portraits
Golden hour was easily one of my favorite parts of photographing at Hidden Acres.
The open outdoor setting gives us the opportunity to take advantage of that warm evening Florida light when the timeline and weather cooperate.
I love taking my couples away from the reception for just a few minutes around sunset. Not only can it create some of the most beautiful portraits of the entire wedding day, but it also gives the newlyweds a rare moment together away from everything happening around them.
Hannah & Sean's golden-hour portraits were absolutely gorgeous and showed just how beautiful this property can look as the sun begins to set.
A Reception Made for Celebrating
Inside, The Venue at Hidden Acres offers a climate-controlled reception space with chandeliers, draping, a dance floor, and plenty of room for the celebration to continue.
Hannah & Sean made their reception especially memorable with a **sparkler first dance**.
The combination of the sparklers, movement, and atmosphere created such a fun moment to photograph and made their first dance feel completely their own.
Those are exactly the kinds of moments I love capturing — not just how a wedding looked, but how it actually *felt* to be there.
Why I Loved Photographing at Hidden Acres
As a photographer, I appreciate venues that give us variety without requiring the couple to leave the property.
Hidden Acres offers outdoor scenery for portraits, indoor and outdoor ceremony possibilities, getting-ready space, and a dedicated reception area all in one location.
That means we can create photographs that look completely different throughout the wedding day while minimizing unnecessary travel.
And when we're working with a tight wedding timeline, having those options close together can make a huge difference.
